For students entering grades 2-3
Kids learn to design and construct a simple skirt (shorts for budding boy designers) high or low, frilly or striped or something out-of-the-box, complete with a couple of coordinated upcycled accessories to sashay down the runway! Kids are introduced to hand and machine sewing techniques as they take their ideas to fruition in addition to creatively reusing and re-purposing fabrics and textiles from T-shirts, jeans etc transforming them into stylish accessories — thinking about sustainability and ways to reduce their carbon foot-print.
